Our first Holiday Party seemed to be a hit, or at least to me!I loved our swap, which I think proved we're all getting to know each other's styles pretty well. Except for the Christmas ones, I think I would have known who the others were for just from the fabrics.
Now that we've had a couple of swaps, I'm genuinely excited to come up with something new for next year.
Since it's that time of year, I'm wondering if anyone likes making New Year's Resolutions? I don't always set them, but I've found I'm a lot more successful at giving something up than adding new habits. Terrible I guess. This year, my first resolution is to not buy any books (except my monthly libro audiobook subscription) in 2026. I used to be obsessed with movies and quit going for an entire year-- after that I just didn't care about them as much, which may seem sad, but for me it was a great life choice! I wasted so much time at bad movies because I always wanted to see everything. I'm hoping the same will happen with shopping for books. Oh, I don't want to read less, I just want to buy less and have fewer sitting on my shelves.

It's got me thinking about quilting though, and wondering if there are goals that would help me finish up some of my projects or stop buying projects that just sit on my shelves for years. One year I tried to only buy things I needed for current projects and not buy random fabric (I have shelves and shelves of fabric already) or new inspiring projects when I had so many at home. It lasted about 6 months, which I actually thought was pretty good. I know we have people in our group that are generally monogamous quilters, and I hope they'll share their habits that help with that. I need to really streamline! Well, I'd like to anyway. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I've got a busy couple of weeks, as I'm sure you all do with the holiday quickly approaching! I need to sort out my room, finish up some projects and enjoy my time before the boring winter months crash down. I'm hoping our meetings this winter on January 7th and Feb 11th will cheer us up and keep our quilting momentum going! Can't wait to see you all there!
