In May, we're diving into the world of turning quilts into clothes with Chantel’s quilted jacket class, so this week, we’re flipping the script and focusing on the opposite—turning clothes into quilts and creating projects made of clothing. Think memorial or remembrance quilts, and you'll get the vibe. Or think of the quilt you most dread friends and family asking you to make for them. They can be original and creative! Don’t worry, if you’re feeling inspired, you’ll have a chance to contribute to a project for a group member!

On a GOSSIPY note, I’ve been having some machine hiccups lately, and I suspect it’s all about thread and needles. So, I’ve been getting an earful from my friend (not naming names) who knows all the ins and outs of this stuff. Let’s spill the tea this week about needles—what they’re for, which threads go with which needles, and everything in between! I know we have quilters with so much knowledge and experience on the topic. Also, bobbins, am I right?!
Oh, and we’re thinking about possible block swaps for our group. Is there interest, and if so, how can we put our special JSYK spin on it!? Sound fun?
Just a quick reminder: This Wednesday, the 9th, the sewing room opens at 10am for open sew, which lasts until our meeting kicks off at 6pm. We can't wait to see you there!
