The Anticipation!!

My halfhearted prep for the retreat
My halfhearted prep for the retreat

Is everyone planning their retreat projects yet? Yesterday at lunch, Terrie casually mentioned she’s bringing nine small projects, and I immediately thought, wow… I am wildly under-prepared.

So far, I’ve cut out one king-sized quilt. That’s it. Full stop. Last year I actually finished two projects—the traveling sewing machine mat (which was a PROCESS) and an easy quilt—so now I’m wondering if I need a few backup projects… or five… or nine?

Historically, we’ve stayed up most of the night at least once, and this year we have one person (I will not name names, but her initials are V.M.) who regularly sews into the early morning hours. Late-night stitchers, you will be in excellent company.

Unfortunately, the masseuse I had arranged injured her shoulder and won’t be able to make it to the retreat. The good news: Kiki will still be there offering facials! She’ll be available Friday afternoon and will do 30-minute facials for $30. She’ll have time for about 7 people, and I’ll share her preferred sign-up method soon. She was very popular last year.

Thank you all for signing up to provide food for the retreat! I’m so excited that we won’t have to leave—or think too hard about meals—at least some of the time.

I’m also still thinking about the swap… and not sewing it yet. I know exactly what colors they like, the designers they like, and the projects they’re interested in, and I still cannot decide what to make. Sigh. Very on brand for me.

Reminder: our monthly meetup is this Wednesday at 6 at Heartfelt. Can’t wait to see everyone there!
